Erdem
Amongst the sea of hard, slicked styles that dominated the SS11 catwalks emerged a softness that emanated an altogether more feminine feeling. Wispy, whimsical hair that conjured up a romantic Victorian vibe appeared at Antonio Berardi as hair was styled into topknots then mussed up to allow strands to cascade around faces. At Erdem models resembled wood nymphs as plaited halos were anchored to heads in a loosely dishevelled fashion, while at Alberta Ferretti long lengths were accompanied with a mass of fuzzy flyways. At Burberry the brief was to imagine models had just taken off motorcycle helmets, so hair was loosely ruffled and undone, and at Dolce & Gabbana loosely pinned up lengths gave the look an air of raw romanticism.
