SS10 is the season of experimentation when it comes to hair, with architectural twists and towering structures claiming centre stage. Hair got a Hip Hop make-over at Jean Paul Gaultie r where cornrows wrapped across heads, while at PPQ rows of tiny, intricate braids were looped and coiled around heads in a nod to Nubian beauty. At Matthew Williamson hair stylist Malcolm Edwards showcased a lesson in design as he twisted ponytails around each other to create an ‘armoured halo of hair’, the perfect juxtaposition between soft and hard. Ponytails were twisted into wet rope braids at Ungaro and at Zac Posen coloured swatches of silk were woven through plaits and piled into buns. Danielle Scutt meanwhile took the award for hair height as stylist Luke Hersheson created oversized sculpted chignons that sat high above heads.
