Topshop Unique
There’s no better time than the party season to experiment with a hair accessory or two, and luckily AW11 had a slew of embellishments to inspire. Emilio de la Morena showcased a sweet, schoolgirl-ish nod to the trend with red velvet ribbon tied into textured ponytails while Topshop Unique’s black ribbon was tied into bows around buns. At Holly Fulton 1940s inspired pillbox hats sat jauntily atop heads (perfect for Christmas morning, we say) while Loewe opted for monogrammed barrettes to keep neat chignons in place. If simple sleek ponytails are your style staple, try binding yours with leather like Emanuel Ungaro or adding a chunky silver bobble like Dries Van Noten or if you want to make a real statement look to Alexander McQueen who showed heads covered entirely in shiny silver clips.
