At Topshop Unique, hair stylist Sam Hillerby created cool, edgy plaits inspired by 80’s star Bow Wow Wow, and employed the help of corn braiding specialists from the Lady Diamond Salon in Hackney. Guido’s wet-look plaits for Luella were tied with elastic bands to look tough while at Margaret Howell hair pulled tight at the sides gave stylist Neil Moodie’s pretty braids a masculine edge.

Kiss goodbye to your silk curls, girls. Come autumn, ‘big’ hair will come in the form of dishevelled buns piled on top of the head, with an overly static texture to enforce a just-out-of-bed vibe. At Luella, Guido created the look by making sure it wasn’t too perfect: ‘It has to look like the girl did it herself,’ he said. He used a Redken Thickening Lotion on the hair before styling and plenty of Redken Forceful Hairspray to keep the look in place. Strongly textured hair was also visible at Erdem where Charles Worthington’s Andrew John rubbed out random sections of the large buns, pinned on top of the models heads.
