Partings were everywhere on the spring summer 2013 catwalks and in all shapes and sizes. We saw playful zig-zags at BCBGMAXAZRIA, deep-set sides both wispy (at Chloe) and sleek (at Thierry Mugler), dual-partings at Etro and Gianfranco Ferré where quiffs were flattened down creating structured panel-back hair and even the no-parting-parting at Christopher Kane. Theres no one way to wear them, and this season well be busying ourselves with trying them all. Because yes, theyre all that good.
Want to stick to what you know? If youre into side partings hair guru Adam Reed suggests wearing them sleek and clean, use Percy & Reed Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish, £10, for a 70s androgyny finish. If middle partings are more your thing then Reed advises to wear them with a worn-in texture which will add a more modern feel; alternatively Reed says that wearing them with more of a 80s slicked back cool creates a strong look complimenting a simple outfit.
