Ask any woman to pinpoint which product she can't imagine her bursting beauty arsenal without and she'll no doubt tell you it's the humble dry shampoo.

But, thanks to celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, who tends to the tresses of the Kardashian-Jenners, Chrissy Teigen and Jenna Dewan Tatum, to name but a few, the grease-busting staple has undergone a pretty cool makeover.

In case you've been living under a rock, February 2016 saw hair genius Jen unveil her debut hair-care collection, Ouai, complete with tousle-enhancing salt sprays and taming cremes, but it is her latest innovation - a foaming dry shampoo that breathes life into unwashed lengths without water - that has set the beauty sphere ablaze.

When it comes to refreshing a 3-day-old 'do, spritzing heavy, chalky powders into our roots is the only thing we've ever known, which is why this launch is truly something different - but the premise is real simple: spray a golf ball-sized amount of the mousse-y product into the palm of your hand, lift your hair up at the roots and massage it in as though you're giving your lengths a wash in the shower.

First of its kind, the breakthrough product - which dries in seconds - boasts cleansing ingredient diatomaceous earth (we're trusting Jen on this one) to dislodge and dissolve grime, oil and product build-up sans the gritty, dusty feeling and it is packed with panthenol to provide each and every strand with an intense hit of hydration.

To prove it works wonders on all hair types and textures, from thick to fine (even straightened or blow-dried hair) Jen took to Snapchat and Instagram to give beauty-lovers a quick demo and the results were nothing short of mesmerising.

For those who have lacklustre, limp locks even after a wash, Jen also recommends smoothing a handful of product throughout the mid lengths to ends, too. Hello, volume.

Even though its UK launch date is mid February, the idea of the quick and easy body-boosting foam has taken social media by storm, with hundreds having already signed up to theouai.com to claim first dibs.

The best part, though? The chicer-than-chic monochrome packaging oozes Verso and Sachajuan vibes so it'll look at home atop your dresser.

All in favour of skipping wash day say I.
