If there's one thing actress Emilia Clarke and her Game of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen/Mother Of Dragons/Khaleesi - whatever you want to call her - definitely don't have in common (apart from dragon babies, a royal bloodline and an ability to survive fire...ok several things) it's Dany's iconic white blonde hair.
Arguably her defining physical feature and the link to her Targaryen ancestry, Dany's icy blonde locks have long been on our 'really want but will totally kill my hair' Pinterest boards.
Why? Because bleaching your hair that blonde is kind of a killer. Which is probably why for the past eight years the 30-year-old actress stuck to her natural brunette hair, opting to wear a wig for seven seasons of the insanely successful tv series.
Until recently.
Emilia Clarke, towards the end of 2017 (September, to be precise), surprised the world by doing what she suggested she'd never do and going platinum to match her kick-ass on-screen counterpart.
First she wowed us with a surprise Instagram of her hair transformation from brunette to bleached blonde à la Khaleesi.
But since then, she's been swanning around on the red carpet with her new blonde bob shining brightly like a diamond and we have to say, blonde Emilia Clarke might just be our favourite Emilia Clarke.
Staying true to her Game Of Thrones roots (pardon the pun), Clarke turned to the creators of her often complex and intricately braided wigs, Kevin Alexander and Candice Banks, to give her a Mother Of Dragons hair an overhaul IRL.
A cheeky chop to a chin length bob to get rid of any dead ends, and the Emilia Clarke to Khaleesi transformation was complete.
Welcome to the blonde club, Emilia!
