Let's play a word association game. Amber Le Bon. Hair. Specifically, waves of it, the kind of glistening mane that's the product of good care, great style and amazing genetics.

Stop for a second, in your busy day, to visualise the sheer glossy loveliness of the tresses that have catapulted Le Bon to the forefront of beauty, haircare and fashion campaigns (although the cheekbones probably didn't hurt, either).

And tomorrow, she's lopping off more than half a foot of it.

For the very best reason possible. Along with legions of stylists and GHD devotees from across the country, Amber will be teaming up with GHD Pink Blush as part of national Chop To Your Chin Day in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

She'll be joining ELLE Beauty Director Sophie Beresiner and hair master Adam Reed exclusively on the ELLE Facebook page to get a drastic cut, live.

With the 7 inches of hair Amber donates, the UK-and-Ireland based charity will be able to manufacture wigs for children affected by hair loss from chemotherapy, alopecia and other conditions resulting in hair loss.

Working closely with specialist hair suppliers and hairdressers, the Trust tailors wigs to replicate kids' pre-treatment hair, vastly boosting the confidence and morale of children struggling with the day-to-day realities of living with cancer and hair loss.
