If Tough Mudder feels like it could a be a little... tough for your first obstacle course event, then why not try Mudderella? From the founders of Tough Mudder, it's an all-women race covering 5-7 miles and 12-15 obstacles. It's all in aid of Refuge, a great charity that supports women and children escpaing domestic violence.

Where:

Boughton House, Kettering Northamptonshire

Distance: 5-7 miles with 12-15 obstacles

Fit Factor: 3/5 but it’s more akin to circuits than running.

Why Run: It’s a great experience to share with a group of friends and other women (it’s a female-only race). Obsctacles include Wheels in Motion – where you travel across winging tires, and Hat Trick, where entrants jump off a trampoline, up a cargo net and throw themselves into a deep pool of water. You’ll get a cider at the end to celebrate.

Run it: Tickets £89 (although they are cheaper the earlier you sign up)

Support it: Not running? Men and women are encourage to spectate; there are showers so everyone can enjoy the food, drinks and music post-race. Mudderella is supporting Refuge, the country’s larget single provider of accommodation and support for women and children escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse, so it’s a worthwhile cause to get muddy for.
