The Concept: Edge Cycle fuses indoor cycling and bootcamp while tapping into elements of HIIT (high intensity interval training). The room itself is dark and gives off the feel of a nightclub rather than a typical aerobics studio. Having said that, the ‘trend’ for nightclub-esque workouts is becoming typical on the London fitness circuit – and for good reason, a class that disguises itself as a night out is far more enjoyable than a workout that feels like work.

The 45-minute session is split into segments alternating between hill climbs or sprints on the bike, then floor work on the mat – crunches, squats, upright rows all the while clutching hand weights. No class is the same.

What You Need: Gym kit and trainers. They provide towels and REN toiletries.

Difficulty Rating: 4/5 – it’s hardcore; you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

Location: Leather Lane, nearest tube Chancery Lane

Cost: £15 (Book 50 at once and the class price goes down to £11.40)
