As (Queen of colur) Roksanda herself told me when we met up at the LFW Toni & Guy Style Hub (she is designing some limited edition packaging for the brand); “London is the one city that really appreciates people being different. It is quite rebellious and independent, and that's what is inspirational about it over all the other (Fashion Week) cities.”

Agreed Roksanda, this is why I wasn’t too surprised to see a colour shock movement happening in London, after a week of nudes and more nudes in New York. And some were particularly wonderful. Awe inspiring even. Like these:

Roksanda

Turquoise, turquoise, aqua, turquoise. There is no getting away from it. Blue is the colour story of the season and Roksanda showcased it to perfection. Make up artist Lucia Pica created a round shadow shape with a slight 30’s wet look feel to it, inspired by a minimal modern dance artist to compliment the beautiful collection.

Key product: Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Bleu Metallic with Hydra Beauty Balm over the top.

Mary Katranzou

Again, Lucia (clearly she is responsible for the colour wave) wanted the Katranzou girls to be like ‘odd dolls’. This translated to quite a done look, but in a raw way to make the models appear wide eyed and kind of distorted.

I adore the paint application on the middle lashes, that not only make the lashes stand out to people beyond the front row (no mean feat when we're usually looking at the clothes alone),  but also make eyes look beautiful. I’m going to say this is a wearable one. If you’re feeling brave.

Key product: MAC Hi Def Cyan and Marine Ultra acrylic paint applied on top of mascara on the middle lashes only

Holly Fulton

Stained glass lids courtesy of ELLE favourite and regular Andrew Gallimore in either burnt coral or smoked green at made me see eyelid choices in a whole other light. I’ve never been inclined to try green before, but damn I want to look that glazed and polished.
