This is probably one of the few times Melanie Griffith will be cited as a beauty inspiration. Her role in her 1988 movie ‘Working Girl’ perfectly captures the spirit of the long oval shape and nude, caramel tones that has captivated many a nail fanatic this season. Executed perfectly at Dior and Viktor & Rolf, this is a wearable trend that mirrors fashion’s re-found love affair with lady-like elegance. The take at Marc Jacobs was to keep nails short and in true Jacob’s style, models each sported different variations of nudes. At Max Azria nail colour was so neutral it looked barely there at all. With the use of CND colours, nails were painted a shade close to their own natural colour for a buffed and groomed look.
