ELLE's New Season Beauty Picks

There are plenty of new-season pieces that have got me excited, but the one I’ve become obsessed by is Chanel’s Les Trompe L’Oeil Skin Art . I already have two permanent tattoos that I got just shy of my 18th birthday and still love, despite Mr ELLE Beauty Team’s criticisms. I’ve wanted a new design for years, and now I can have one – a Chanel one at that. It’s practically killing me to do it, but I’m saving my transfers for the ELLE Style Awards on the 22nd Feb. I may not have a Chanel dress, but a cascade of tattoos, from my shoulder down the centre of my back, will help me hold my own in a room full of celebrities and models.

Lilac is set to be spring’s hot new shade so I’ll be sweeping this soft pastel shade from my cheeks to my temples for a delicate flush.

I wear grey/silver eyeshadow every single day. I've been told it doesn't suit my blue eyes and blonde hair, that a subtle brown would be more appropriate. Boo sucks appropriate, I wear it with clumpy mascara eyes too. Shu Uemura's eyeshadow colours are known for its vivid pigment and silky shimmer. Aside from the already notoriously popular greige hue, the other nail hue du jour for the new season is pastel – in any shade. I particularly like these three from Illamasqua. The soft mint looks great now; the powdery blue will work well with a bit of a springtime tan, and I’m saving the buttery yellow polish for my summer holidays. I’m literally counting down the days…

From the moment the Hestia false lashes, £150, by Eylure arrived in the office I was in love. These Cleopatra-inspired lashes are adorned with a strip of gold leaf and have a row of sparkly sapphire jewels along the outside edge. They're a real wow-factor piece and, whilst you might not wear them on your average Friday night out, they offer an amazing alternative to feline liquid liner-rimmed eyes.
