Charcoal eyes with a touch of metallic, heavy black lashes, stained lips and beetle-black nails were all spotted on the catwalks this season. This is the chicest way to embrace winter’s punk and gothic trends and channel your inner bad girl with style.
The key to this look is a matte base softened with rosy, cream blush like Bobbi Brown’s rouge pot in Pink Truffle. This should give you a healthy-looking glow which is the perfect backdrop to balance stained lips or smoky eyes and plenty of smudged, kohl liner. (Look to Brit model Agyness Deyn for inspiration - she often tames her peroxide crop and smoky eyes with peachy skin and super-bare lips.) For added edge, we spotted the experts backstage, finishing this look with a slick of Mac’s clear Lipglass on lips and eyelids.
