This is very much Britain’s year (thanks to the Jubilee and the Olympics) and backstage Britain was referenced regularly as inspiration by make-up artists.

Backstage the Romantic Goth trend was very much inspired by Lisbeth Salander (the main character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and you can interpret this look two ways.
First, blackened, vampy lips paired with hauntingly hazy eyes and little mascara; look to Gucci (pictured) for inspiration. Alternatively, play up your eyes with smudged, worn-in liner and a barely-there lip colour.

Summer looks are so often playful and riotous with colour that winter pales in comparison, but this season it wants a piece of the action.

With the sun setting on summer, the new season is paying homage to the bronzy, fiery hues so often associated with beach holidays.
