Next, slice a flower nail cane, 95p each (at Nail Delights), into slithers. Dot a clear top coat where you want to attach the flowers and hold in place. You can also buy fruit canes if you want to recreate the look at Stella McCartney…

Adorn your nails with metallic flowers as well, if you want a contrast – Claire’s Accessories have a good selection of nail art supplies.

Cover the whole nail and flowers with a clear top coat. ELLE loves Seche Vite, £7.60 (at feelunique.com), its super strong making it ideal for coating 3D nail art.

Following a base coat, paint your nails in a bold yellow. If you can get your hands on it, ELLE loves Chanel Le Vernis in Mimosa, £17.50 (chanel.co.uk). Here Adam used Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish in Sunshine, £2.99.

Paint Rimmel’s Lycra Pro Matte Top Coat, £4.49 over the nail.

Leave to dry and finish with a high-shine top coat on the tip.

Let your nails take centre stage with a deep, rich nail shade and bold glitter. The perfect party nail…

Use a base coat like Sally Hansen Double Duty Base Coat, £4.95 (at sallyhansen.co.uk).

Next paint the nail with a dark purple. Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Polish in Purple Addict, £4.59 gives the nail a metallic finish; try OPI Houston We Have A Purple, £10.50 (at lenawhite.co.uk) if you prefer an opaque, solid colour.

Apply a little topcoat to the tip.

Dip your nail into a pot of glitter. You can buy glitter from art supply shops or haberdasheries. We suggest a gold or bronze glitter as it’s in keeping with the theme, but you can pick any hue you like.

Finally, seal with top coat like Rimmel Pro Super Wear Ultra Shine Topcoat £4.59.
