Faces were awash with a riot of colour this season. Where it appeared on lips colour was opaque, dense and acid bright; pops of melon at Fendi , eye-watering pink at Jil Sander and velvety fuchsia at Diane von Furstenberg were the standouts of the season. When it came to statement lids colours varied from timid dots of canary yellow at Osman Yousefzada to oval washes of violet at Etro ; at Louise Gray both lids and lashes painted in cerulean added vibrant impact. At some shows one colour simply wasn’t enough, at Christian Dior make-up artist Pat McGrath painted lids with vivid blocks of cherry, sky-blue and emerald while at Loewe rainbow shades from apple green to tangerine were drawn on in wings to elongate and accentuate eyes.
