Classic liner is always on the beauty periphery whatever the season thanks to its ability to elongate eyes and provide a sophisticated style statement, but SS12 saw a triumphant resurgence to really cement its place in your kit. As far as purveyors of the trend went, it was designers in London who really championed the look – while House of Holland opted for thick, black lines beneath lower lashes, Jonathan Saunders went for a more classic, lengthened flick, and Richard Nicoll showed off short blocks of black pencilled in at the outer corners of eyes. When it came to colour black didn’t reign supreme this time, we saw flashes of vibrant turquoise below brow bones at Pringle , neon pink and silver waves at Louise Gray and glittery violet and aqua at Michael van der Ham . The classic just got updated.
