The buzz in Parisian beauty is about 'natural polish'; all effortless grooming and fresh, luminous skin. At Celine brows were made fuller and biscuit shadows applied around the eyes and cheeks. At Chloe make-up artist Diane Kendal applied rosy shades of blush to define and sculpt. But cheek-placement meant everything; ‘on the apples makes you look happy, lower down on the cheeks is more of a flush and high on the cheekbones looks elegant and polished’ said Victor Cembellini, a MAC Senior Artist at Chloe. Elsewhere black eyes provided a break from spring freshness. At Lanvin winged black shadow was applied so heavily it almost obscured eyes. At Valentino , greasy half-moons lids gave a graphic edge, while Jean Paul Gaultier ’s inky shades of liner, greasepaint and powder created the ultimate smoky eyes.
