Sexy, Summer Eyes

Black kohl eye liner never goes out of style, but this summer make-up artists made it feel fresh and new. At Doo Ri and Karl Lagerfeld softly shadowed lids in slate grey were finished with sexy, sweeps of glossy, black liner. DIY with a waxy kohl, black gel liner, try Bobbi Brown or use MAC’s Eye Kohl in Smoulder. At Matthew Williamson, , kohl was smudged for a lived-in look, and overall the vibe on the summer catwalks was ‘modern rather than retro-perfected’ according to make-up artist Tom Pecheux . In other words, this isn’t about precision lining or perfect flicks of liner – think teenagers rather than Twiggy. For an edgier, more graphic version, take your cue from Moschino where eyes were lined just at the inner and outer corners.
