Too tricky to choose just one, both these shows deserve a mention for the beautiful yet understated craftsmanship of make-up artist extraordinaire Peter Philips. Paired with scrubbed faces and not much else, the powdery explosions of melon and magenta were breathtaking.

Part of my favourite bit about being privy to all the news and gossip of the backstage teams is that I often get my hands on new products before they launch. Here I am clutching a very sacred first sample of L’Oreal Professionnel’s Beach Fizz, which I hasten to add, is brilliant.

Everything about this show was a real delight. From the setting inside a sunshine-filled marquee in the heart of Bloomsbury to the lemon tints on eyelids and the fairy-like halos of plaits that snaked around models’ head. Oh and let’s not forget the shoes…

Nothing summed up this season’s love of bold, brash colour-blocking quite like the hair at Altuzarra. Bravo Paul Hanlon, we say.

A dream of a show for a beauty junkie like me; everything from the low and louche retro twists to the lacquered berry lips and the bleached brows worked like magic and had me reaching for something, anything, that could help me recreate this look.

It’s not often a hedge outside a show venue catches my eye but how could this fail to?! Genius.
6. YSL
Spring summer’s beauty trends saw a return to fun. From the electric lips that punctuated several shows to the glitter, nail art and candyfloss-esque hair in between, the spring/summer shows were a true expression of the fanciful and the frivolous. While scribbling down tips and tricks for your benefit dear reader, I also made note of some of my favourite moments. Here are this season’s highlights…
