A plethora of berry shades descended on the catwalk this season, a defiant new season trend that is set to run and run. Whether ultra glossy or chalky and matte burgundy, blackcurrant and bordeaux are the colours to shop this autumn. At Charles Anastase deep blood red was painted crisply on to models’ lips and paired with alabaster skin while at Issa wine-stained lips gave balance to heavy-flicked liner. Dark lipstick was in its glossiest guise at Antonio Berardi where make-up artist Gucci Westman slicked on aubergine to add edge to polished faces and pretty lashes. The coolest way to wear it was showcased at Proenza Schouler where a charred purple stain was pressed on to lips with nonchalant ease. Pair with tousled hair and a laidback attitude for the ultimate AW statement.
