Those thick, glitter-layered lips are still all over our Instagram feed, and we haven't grown tired of them one bit - and neither has the rest of the fashion world it seems. DKNY even used them in is AW16 show...

Every famous faces known to man (well, pretty much) has been trying them out, from Naomi Campbell to Rihanna, as well as a many a model in between.

McGrath, a long-lauded make-up artist in the fashion industry, launched her eponymous make-up collection Pat McGrath Labs less than a year ago with an ultra fine gold pigment for lips called Gold 001. Each innovative product she has released since has sold out almost immediately. But it's the sparkling lips that seem to have gained her the biggest following yet.

The kit is (or maybe we should say was) available in three shades - Vermillion Venom (true cherry reds), Flesh (dusty, rosy hues) and Bloodwine (deep reds) - and includes two matte lipsticks for blending (McGrath always mixes shades, never uses just one), a clear vinyl gloss, a metallic gold pigment (like the Gold 001) and a microfine glitter in the tone of whichever shade kit you have chosen.

But how do you use those ingredients to create the glittering lip we so love?

Step 1: Apply the lipstick

Step 2: Dab the clear vinyl gloss over the top

Step 3: Use a make-up brush or fingers to press on the microfine glitter

Step 4: Use Scoth tape [an insider tip from McGrath] to remove excess glitter from around the lips. Et voila!

And if you're still on the fence, let these famous faces, or lips, sway you with their in-motion Instas...
