Rihanna is a goddess, a bombshell, and an icon. But the problem with beautiful women making make-up is that they don't really need it. After all, Rihanna looks good in everything. (And even better in nothing.) Of course she can make her own beauty line look unreal.

The real question is: what about the rest of us?

And so we joined Rihanna's Navy at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for Fenty Beauty's big launch. Every single product was available for guests like Tracee Ellis Ross and [insert your favourite beauty vlogger here].

We swatched. We blended. We selfie'd. We watched Alyssa Ashley in action. (Wow.) And now we can give you a rundown of our top 4 items in Rihanna's Fenty Beauty stash.

Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

The 40-shade range is super-inclusive with colours, but the texture is always the same: an opaque full-coverage base that goes on smooth and blends deep with fingers or a sponge. This isn't the kind of tint you want to mix with moisturiser, but it'll work on top of your favourite face cream just fine. (Verified: that's how Rihanna does it.)

Pro Tip: If you're in between shades, go slightly warmer than your normal complexion - it'll blend better that way.

Match Stix Matte Skinstick

The box says 'conceal, correct, and contour' but these sheer, creamy chubbies (like a lip balm tube but thicker) have a secret superpower: they're also awesome as eyeshadow. Try Unicorn for a subtle violet shimmer, Chili Mango for a sexier version of tangerine, Sinamon for a bronze sheen, and Espresso for a rich glossy lid.

Pro Tip: They're magnetic!

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter

Rihanna wears Trophy Wife, the solid gold shade seen above. It's less of a shimmer and more of a fine-grade glitter, and one swipe is plenty for serious impact. You can absolutely apply with your fingers, but if you use a wet brush, you can try it out as a metallic eyeliner top coat, too.

Pro Tip: Practice first over the sink - this is varsity level, extra strength shine.

Beauty Gloss Balm

It smells like a cocktail and looks like the mermaid version of a nude lip: shiny, slide-y, and almost iridescent. And while it's definitely not coluorless, here's the amazing thing: it looks good on every skin tone. See the photo above? All those women (RiRi included) are wearing the same lip product: this one.

Pro Tip: Enjoy!
