As solid Christmas enthusiasts, any excuse to don an OTT 80s party dress (they're so hot right now) and a little bit too much glitter is all good in our books.

Yes, we're all about the traditional red and gold colour scheme and obsessing over the right way to work a Santa hat, but when a new (and arguably long-awaited) take on the festive season comes along, we're all ears as well.

Cue Illamasqua's gender fluid Christmas campaign that's all about rainbow cheekbones, turquoise lips and make-up on everyone and anyone - be it man, woman or a magical place in between.

Starring Munroe Bergdorf and 'gender capitalist' model Rain Dove, amongst others, Illamasqua's Christmas manifesto is all about how to 'Celebrate without chromosomes'. Because since when did those dictate how epic your office party look is going to be? That's what we thought...

'We are not afraid to talk about complex issues that affect our generation whether they be race, gender, age, or the environment,' state Illamasqua, 'We seek to create an open, equal and diverse society. It's not about being a girl; it's not about being a boy. Forget the biology. It's about being free to explore your individuality, celebrating who you are today, and who we all want to be tomorrow.'

Working purple and blue retro victory rolls to match her mermaid vibes make-up, Munroe Bergdorf looks epic in electric blue eyeliner and lilac Antimatter lipstick, with fellow model Rain firmly putting yellow lipstick on our 'things we totally need to try' agenda.

And that's just the start of the campaign's colour explosion. Think off-beat yellow blusher, blue eyebrows and more than a hint of purple highlighter created by Illamasqua Make-Up Artist In Residence Sharon Dowsett, and you've got the most fun (and inclusivity) we've seen in a major brand campaign for a long time.

'The ideologies of Illamasqua are so in-line with mine – everybody is as beautiful as each other, and it's all about our differences,' says Bergdorf, 'What makes us individual is what makes us beautiful.' We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
