Besides a general coming together of everyone 'super' in the fashion industry – supermodels, super hair stylists and super makeup artists - Fashion Week is exciting for the opportunity to have a first look at the new innovations in make-up.

Artists are given products a whole season early to use on the models, and we, the intrepid beauty journalists, see it in action first.

Want to know what is coming up for your autumn winter make-up bag?

Nars Audacious Lip Palette and Full Vinyl Lip Lacquer (out September 2018)

Backstage at Adeam, make-up artist Sado Ito wanted the girls to look 'beautiful by themselves' so, after a Radiant longwear foundation base ( to get a natural glow), he used the not-out-yet lip palette and lacquer in surprising ways.

First, and best tip: Use a coral lipstick in place of blush, it melts into the skin more naturally so the skin looks glowing from the inside. Actual shade used: 'Disobedience' from the Audacious lipstick Palette.

Pat McGrath used the new Tom Ford Extreme eye collection to create the suitably sexy glistening smoke for Kaia Gerber and co. at Tom Ford. The perfect companion for that Swarovski headband you'll be wearing soon, right?

Endlessly cool make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench talked us through the foil and glitter collection after the show, think super-pigmented, creamy textures that buff in for an extreme glimmer finish. Exact shade used in the show: TFX10.

The lips were finished in a new TF lip innovation (we don't even have a name for it yet), but it's a full-coverage formula with collagen and marine-based fillers so the lips look plumped.

Make-up artist Diane Kendal used her Nars remit to create a 'powerful beauty' look backstage at Alexander Wang.

This meant strong brows (using matte eyeshadow and gel), glowing, expensive skin, and serious, no-mess lashes with new Nars Climax mascara, our in the Autumn. Eyes were 'grey into the crease of the eye, then underneath, with a darker shade from the Mahe shadow quad over the banana socket'.
