2. ELLE How to: Make your lips look fuller

1. Lip liner

Why: This will stop ‘lipstick shift’ and create an outline for you to work with. Start by pinching your lips to boost circulation and plump, then define the outline of your lips with a lip pencil the same shade as your natural lip colour. Fill in the middle of your lips and blot.

What: Clinique Quickliner for Lips, in Baby Buff £12.50

2. Highlighter

Why: Appling a pearlescent highlighting pencil onto your Cupid's bow and under your bottom lip will draw your lips forward and make them look plumper.

What: Revlon Colorburst in Demure, £5.99

3. Lipstick

Why: Amping up the colour of your lips fools the eye into thinking they are fuller. Go over your lips with lipstick – using a brush for precision – and apply right up to the drawn line.

What: Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick, £23

4. Gloss

Why: For that 3D effect, add a touch of gloss in the middle of your lips only.

What: DIOR Doir Addict Gloss, £22
