YSL beauty has announced unconventional make-up artist, Isamaya Ffrench, as its UK make-up ambassador. As an artist who is able to push creative boundaries that take beauty beyond just making a face pretty, Isamaya is well adept at creating something unique, quirky, surprising, and unexpected.

At the age of just 25 years old, Ffrench has already worked with some of the world’s most renowned photographers and designers includingSolve Sundsbo, Tim Walker, David Sims, Richard Burbridge, Tyrone Le bon, Miles Aldridge and Nick Knight.

“It's a great privilege to be part of the YSL Beauté family!" says Ffrench. "To be affiliated with such an iconic brand, especially with a creative position, is really exciting for me as an artist. I'm looking forward to a wonderfully collaborative journey in makeup. Lloyd Simmonds’ brand vision is definitely an inspiration and the product portfolio continues to be at the forefront of makeup innovation.”

Having studied 3D at the Chelsea College of Art and then product design at Central St Martins, she joined the Theo Adams Company in 2010 where she began to see the process of painting on faces more stimulating than the actual subject she was studying. She then went on to land the role of contributing beauty editor at i-D magazine, where her name reached stardom within the industry thanks to her unique vision of beauty.
