It is September 2015, and that means it is time for a new season of Fashion Weeks. S/S2016 kicks off in New York, and Beauty Director Sophie Beresiner is off to report from backstage.

This means many many beauty looks to try, make up changes from day to night, a lot of blowdries that quickly become bedraggled, and running in heels. This is what she will take and how she'll use it:

1. de Mamiel Altitude Oil

I hate flying. This is a natural calming remedy that works beyond the plane and I would mainline if I could

2. Vichy Eye Contour Idealizer

Jet lag + US air conditioning + trying and retrying makeup looks + cleansing wipes to remove it all = sore, red eyes. I need an effective eye-reviver and this is it.

3. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

Corrective, unclogging care for anti-imperfections. I am expecting plenty of imperfections (see above) which I will need to counteract.

4. Power Bank External Battery

An iPhone without charge is a living nightmare backstage where we spend upwards of eight hours running from show to show digitally documenting. This holds an entire phone charge. I am taking two.

5. Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon and Rock & Kohl

I'm downsizing my kit so I need versatile options. The first is a perfect easy daytime smoky eye (scribbble on, buff in), the second is great for defining the waterline in the evening

6. Holly Fulton Simple Cleansing Wipes

See point 2. There is SO much make up to remove.

7. Emergen-C Energy release and immune support

It is common knowledge that we journalists are prone to 'Fashion Month Flu' from the time-zone hopping and packed schedules. Such common knowledge in fact that we get sent these supplements to help

8. Lanolips 101 Ointment

A perfect multi-tasker for dry lips, cuticles etc. but me being a beauty director, I will use it on my eyelids for a sparkling gloss, then layer it over black kohl for a distressed smoky eye.

9. Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer in Rebel Pop

I cannot ever travel without a trademark very dark lipstick. I would feel imcomplete and anxious without it. This also doubles as a glossy smoky eye tool.

10. Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Colour

Since I receieved this I am unable to part with it. Totally impractical for fashion week, (it's heavy and so pointy!) but beauty is not always about practicality.

11. Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in Two Ton Teal

I'm wondering if I'll see the coloured lash trend stick with us for s/s2016, but just in case it won't be, I'm making the most of this teal wonder.

12. Nexxus Encapsulate Serum

As if by magic, my favourite protein hair treatment just launched in miniature so I can stick it in my washbag. My hair will definitely be needing it.

13. Balmain Paris Dry Shampoo

Only the MOST Fashion Week-worthy dry shampoo will do for NY.

14. Lisa Bea makeup bag (+ plaster & tweezers)

Too much sparkle? There is no such thing.

Stay tuned to see all the backstage action as it happens, plus some insta-tutorials of Sophie applying her make up looks using her kit.
