Following a strongly emerging theme across the first two cities of Fashion Month, a lip accent is becoming a thing. How to make a beautiful statement lip even more statement? Surround it with a sea of nude lips. Burberry was the latest in a fairly long run to do this (following Victoria Beckham, Oscar De La Renta to name just a couple), but this one particularly ticked my boxes because it was a luscious, deep dark oxblood. This is somewhat surprising for Spring Summer, which makes me like it all the more.

The rest of the makeup, designed by artist Wendy Rowe was creamy but illumnous, with Burberry Fresh Glow Fluid Foundation and concealer forming an ethereal base. The big news: in place of too much contouring, was strobing powder, which was responsible for the glowy, pale finish. She used a brand new highlighter (SS Runway Palette in White no. 01) to achieve it, and I will be pocketing it as soon as it hits my desk. Burberry, you might need to send two...

That lip (for those girls who had it) was the iconic Oxblood shade, and my tip here is to build it to an intensity that it stands way out from the creamy skin, then focus on the eyes. The focus was and should be very gentle. As in brown mascara if you can bear it, over a stone coloured lid and not much else.

The final effect is summery fresh even though it shouldn't be and whilst I tried it out in the morning for Instagram, I kept it throughout the day and I might just wear it tomorrow too. Hats off Burberry makeup, I want to be that girl.
