The Dolce & Gabbana show is always a highlight in my makeup world. It's because they ALWAYS and without fail showcase a properly pretty, womanly, inspirational beauty look that epitomises everything we love about make up and what we use it for.

Invariably featuring a beautiful lip and sexy feline flick, this season the show was as much about the beauty as the clothes. And how did I reach this conclusion? Because the talking point and full focus of the show was the giant screens projecting the live selfies being taken by the models as they walked the runway.  The nature of a selfie is that it focuses on the face, all of which were covered in the most beautiful makeup, exactly as I'd hoped.

In case you want to carry out your own ode to Italy, make up artist Pat McGrath used Dolce & Gabbana's The Eyeliner in Chocolate 10 to create the signature flick, with a line of Glam Liner in Earthy Brown 2 layered on top to intensify. On lips, of eight pink Dolce Matte Lipstick shades were used for each model depending on her skin tone and nails were painted with The Nail Lacquer in Bella 210.

Thanks Dolce & Gabbana, you've done it again. I'll let the selfies do the talking. Scroll down for the action live from the catwalk
