New York Fashion Week is a great entry point to the season, it sees the gentle beginnings of the beauty trends. As in, mostly clean skin, a tentative taupe eye, a careful chignon versus a natural tousle. It's as the cities progress that the good stuff really starts happening. So imagine my delight and surprise at seeing a fully fledged fantastical look at . Traditionally it's a makeup or a hair, and its usually whimsical and ethereal, but this saw the gods of glam chuck everything they had at it all at once.

A deeper than dark lip? Check. A shimmery ethereal eyeshadow? Absolutely. A frankly stunning hair concept, hand woven-in by hairstylist Odile Gilbert complete with foiled-flowers and gilt headbands? Done. This is quite possibly the most beautiful beauty I've seen for years and I'm all over it like a 'fairy-dusted moonlit goth girl bitch better have my money'. Thanks for the reference James Kaliardos makeup artist. I'm in.

Look at the hair. Just look.

James Kaliardos talks us through the concept

Here's how to get the look:

1. Use Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Train Blue to draw in your lips. Be careful and precise, something this dark shows mistakes off easily.

2. Contour cheeks using a slightly shimmery peachy bronze so it isn't a flat, matte contour. It should move with the light, this is what makes it 'fantasy' skin.

3. Use a white shimmer shadow for a sheer veil of colour over your lids and line in the waterline with a white pencil too.

4. Groom brows with black mascara, being careful not to colour the skin, just the hairs. This gives it the slightly gothic strength and intensifies the whole look
