With everyone donning black for last night's Golden Globes, in support of the #TimesUp initiative, the beauty looks were bolder than ever – adding as much in the way of attitude as colour to an otherwise monochromatic red carpet.

A fine example was Emily Ratajkowski – who never shies away from a statement look – and chose to wear hot pink eye make-up, courtesy of Marc Jacobs Beauty global artistry ambassador, Hung Vanngo.

The fiery look centred around winged eye shadow, specifically the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Longwear Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust, £39, blended into her eye sockets. For definition, Hung then lined Ratajkowski's upper and lower waterline with the Marc Jacobs Matte Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Brownie, £20, and finished with the eye look with lashings of the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, £22.

To tie the look together, Vanngo added a flush of colour to the star's cheeks, using the Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Flesh & Fantasy, £28, and he lined her lips with the Marc Jacobs (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Nude(ist), £18, for definition, which were filled in with the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in Understudy, £25.

Naturally, it helps that Ratajkowski's base was perfected first (pops of pink make-up are not advisable on entirely au naturel skin, with any visible under-eye shadows), so we're filing this look for fierce party make-up inspiration that's seemingly easier to achieve than it sounds.

Consider it the unexpected alternative to a power lippy that says cool, confident and self-assured.
