This season the manifesto for eyes is smoky if you're embracing the Romantic Goth trend, or bold sunset hues if you're feeling brave. Come next spring however the trend will be to embrace every colour of the rainbow from red right through to blue, those sunset shades don't seem so daunting now, do they?
We have spied unashamedly bright eye looks in every city from New York to Milan during fashion month and we're sure to see just as colourful looks on the catwalks in Paris this week.
For fear of looking like an eighties reject there are some rules to abide when piling on a playful shadow. Read on for ELLE's guide...
