Botox (or an equivalent brand such as Azzalure or Dysport both of which are fast and effective treatments for the condition) blocks the nerve signals from the brain and creates a physical barrier between the nerve endings and your sweat glands. It works locally where injected and spreads 1cm from entry point to cover a small cross-section of skin – a typical case would need about 15 injections to cover an armpit-sized area. Similar to procedures for lines and wrinkles, adverse side effects are rare so it’s considered a very safe and routine procedure.
