This winter bold and bright colours reigned supreme on the catwalks: from the dark and vampy berry shades, as seen at Daks by Giles Deacon to the bold, bright pink and green seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Armand Basi.
Bright lips and coloured liner give winter skin snap and are the easiest way to buy into the look, while an all-over bright shadow will really make eyes pop. Get the catwalk look by drawing a 1950s flick with colour mixed into your black liner. 'Dark plum, green, and bold blue all used to line the eyes will create a kooky feline effect' says make-up artist Alex Box, Artistic Director of new brand Illamasqua. Look to John Galliano and Christian Dior for the most extreme version of this trend where eyes were theatrical with statement false lashes and explosions of colour - perfect inspiration for winter parties.

For a subtler way to wear colour this winter, Uzo, Nars' international Senior Make-up Artist recommends the following: 'layer a bold shade such as a bright blue with navy or purple with brown. Start with the bold shade and dust over with the subtler colour and then repeat. This way you can add as much or as little bright colour as you want.'
