With the curtain closing on London Fashion Week, today we've been reflecting on all the beauty looks we've seen through a haze of early morning call times, busy backstages and sparkling catwalk shows. As with every season New York works as the foundation before London, Milan and Paris build on the looks until we have set-in-stone new season trends. Right now with London still fresh in our minds we reveal the trends we predict you'll be embracing come spring. Notebook at the ready...
Skin is hyper-real, super dewy perfection for spring/summer. Where make-up artists saved time on omitting mascara, lipstick and blusher from looks, they devoted it to buffing, glossing and generally beautifying models' skin. Andrew Gallimore at Holly Fulton, Lucia Pica at House of Holland and Petros Petrohilos at Paul Smith, plundered MAC's supply of Shine Mixing Medium using it to highlight cheekbones and add gloss to lids. Petros and Andrew ensured perfected looks by using MAC Face & Body foundation, which gives skin a dewy, almost mannequin finish. At Topshop Unique Hannah Murray kept things minimal relying on Topshop Makeup Skin Glow in Light alone; the pearlescent products gives skin an otherworldly glow.

Colour was sparse at LFW which is unusual for spring. The dark, classic hues of autumn/winter usually give way to a kaleidoscope of colours, but for spring/summer 12 there is only one type of colour to get your head around - sunset shades. Holiday hues of sangria, sunset orange and seaside coral adorned eyes and lips. At House of Holland a wash of orangey red, paired with black liner gave eyes a grungy feel; at Jaeger London the inspiration was sunset colours from the exotic island of Mustique - MAC Pro Eye Shadow in Coral was blended up to the socket line and layered with MAC Powder Blush in Peaches. At PPQ Lauren Parsons used Sleek Makeup’s True Colour Lipstick in Stiletto (a classic red) dusted with a bright orange blusher to give a matte effect; while at Nicole Farhi and Julien Macdonald post box red lips were juicy with gloss. Finally, at Mark Fast, Sharon Dowsett used Maybelline products to give eyes a bronzed, sandy effect that was both beautiful and wearable
