The no make-up make-up look has been on our radar for a while, but it took the a/w09 shows to seal it as a major trend. On the catwalks the new nude meant layering and blending products to create polished, flawless faces that looked bare and chic. Using a palette of beige, oyster and champagne, make-up artists buffed sheer tints and gossamer-fine powders into well-prepped skin, creating contours and highlights with veils of natural colour. Cheeks were then sculpted with creamy blushers taupe and rose tones work well, said Charlotte Tilbury at Chloe, then use oyster and gold to highlight down the nose and around the temples. Eyes were washed in light taupe and mocha, while nude lips looked sensual and full. Get the look with ELLEs pick of the best new nude products we spotted backstage.
