Catwalk looks make a definite statement, but how do you translate the trends to your make-up bag? We took inspiration from the AW11 catwalk to bring you ELLEs edit of all the beauty products you need to achieve the key looks for the season.

The fashion look: Fringing, animal print, crochet knits plus those statement tassels that brought American history to life at Isabel Marant, Rodarte, Matthew Williamson and Chloe. See all the pieces here... The face: Sunkissed skin, pretty sandy smoky eyes and full brows create the outdoorsy, healthy look. Be literal with feathers on the lashes or in the hair and finish the look with a pumpkin-hued nail polish. Top tip: 'Use colours that are naturally present in the skin's tone - from flesh, amber and brown to khakis and greys... they enhance rather than dominate the face, conveying mood more than a definite make-up feel', says make-up artist Lyne Desnoyers.
The fashion look: From streamlined tailoring and brogues to trilbies and ties, boyish models were all over the catwalks at Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Hermes… to name a few. See all the pieces here... The face: The boyish complexion is flawless, with contouring and bold brows (brushed-up and filled-in) standing out. Off the catwalk give it a hint of girliness with a softly smoked eye (in navy or khaki) and immaculately curled lashes. Top Tip: 'I love the gender play this season, and the way it's not just about borrowing-clothes-from-your-boyfriend slouchiness. It's more tailored than that. There's something really lovely about putting that heavy brow on such a beautiful face... it's a look that seeps into reality off the catwalk by using a natural pencil to make brows look fatter and brushing them up' says Ter
The fashion look: At Marc Jacobs, Jonathan Saunders and Louis Vuitton there was a ladylike mix of pencil skirts, clashing prints, sheer blouses and peter pan collars. The face: The fashion at Gucci was distinctly seventies, but the beauty look transcended the decades with a chic, glossy red lip and souped-up lashes. At Diane von Furstenberg and Ralph Lauren red lips were played up with a soft, smoky eye. At home perfect your skin with velvet finish foundation, adding a healthy flush to the apples of the cheeks with a plum hued blush. Play up eyes with false lashes and define with liquid liner; finish with an unashamedly bold red lip. Top tip: Back in the forties skin was overly matte. Now 'we're seeing natural matte more than chalky matte, which has a more comfortable look to it' says make-up artist Gordon Espinet. Remember 'it's not about duplicating, but about taking inspiration'
The fashion look: A celebration of eccentricity made a welcome turn on the catwalk this season at Vivienne Westwood Red Label (of course), Louise Gray and Mary Katrantzou. Anything goes from bright colours, jewels, digital prints and off-the-wall accessories. See all the pieces here... The face: Mono brows at Balenciaga, bright brows at Manish Arora and two-tone wigs at Meadham Kirchhoff proved that experimentation is just the thing. Go all out and view your face as an artist’s canvas as Alex Box did backstage at Vivienne Westwood Red Label or, the more likely option, choose a couple of areas to play up – colourful lashes, bright pink cheeks or lilac lips for instance. Make-up Artist Take: Alex Box on the look at Vivienne Westwood Red Label -'it's taking that soft, sculpted shaded beauty of an 18th century painting t
