ELLE's Beauty Director Sophie Beresiner is backstage at the A/W 2015 New York shows bringing you all the looks and top tips from the world's best make-up artists, as the shows happen.
The look: Ghoulish
Make-up artist: Diane Kendal for NARS
Key product: NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Bellissima
Top tip: Keep the skin pale and contour cheeks with the grey eyeshadow. To get a truly worn in look apply cream shadow, remove with embryolisse (cult moisturiser) then apply shadow back over the top.
The look: Ingrid Bergman fresh
Make-up artist: Tom Pecheaux for MAC
Key product: Cream eyeshadows, plus gloss to get that wet eye look.
Top tip: This make up is going to move because there is gloss dotted over the base shadow. If you like the impeccable look, don't try this at home.
The look: Californian girl (on holiday in Santa Fe)
Make-up artist: Val Garland for MAC
Key product: Mac Cream Shadow in Grand Canyon
Top tip: This is effortless, 5-minute makeup where you use the same colour on lids, cheeks and lids. They'll all look different because of what is underneath. Lips are pinker, cheeks are paler.
The look: Fresh, bold and graphic
Make-up artist: Diane Kendal for Lancome
Key product: Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Delicate Lace (out July)
Top tip: This is a very 'real' look. Don't use powder to finish the skin, you want natural shine to come through.
The look: Kate Moss-esque
Make-up artist: Val Garland for MAC
Key product: MAC red lipstick
Top tip: Apply bold red lipstick over matching red lip liner in thin layers with a brush for extra precision and much more staying power.
The look: monochromatic graphic eye
Make-up artist: Tom Pecheux for MAC
Key product: Mac eyeshadow in Coquette
Top tip: Take the taupe shadow all around the lash line, in a sharp cat eye shape, then erase 2/3 of the bottom
The look: Northern Lights lids
Make-up artist: Diane Kendal for NARS
Key product: Dual Intensity Blush in Craving
Top tip: mimic the fading ethereal northern lights with super reflective, veiled wash of bronze layered over pinky peach
The look: Delicate, refined beauty
Make-up artist: James Kaliardos for NARS Cosmetics
Key product: Swarovski crystals
Top tip: Instead of crystals use a silver glitter liner just under the lower lashes to recreate the effect of shimmering depth to the eyes.
The look: Classic elegance with a nod to punk
Make-up artist: Diane Kendal for MAC
Key product: Black creme liner
Top tip: Using a liner brush draw a straight and outward wing to elongate and lift the eye
The look: Rock 'n' roll Spanish woman
Make-up artist: Tom Pecheux
Key product: Indelibly Blue Fluidline Pen (out autumn/winter 2015)
Top tip: the blue pen washed used to create a petrol blue reflection over the liner.
The look: Androgynous and minimalist
Make-up artist: Charlotte Tilbury
Key product: MAC Cream Colour Bases in various hues to add subtle contours and nuances to the face and lip liner to define
Top tip: Very '90s lip liner in a similar shade to lips was used to simply define the shape
The look: A bit Jean Seberg and Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element.
Make-up artist: Gucci Westman for Nars
Key product: NARS Flibuste Velvet Shadow Stick, £18.50 (out autumn)
Top tip: A sporty look needs full brows, fill them in to create a soft yet slightly square shape
The look: 80's subway Guardian Angels
Make-up artist: Diane Kendal
Key product: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Eye Crayon
Top tip: Apply all around the eye right into the inner corner.
The look: Chaka Khan crossed with Grace Kelly
Make-up artist: Kabuki
Key product: Mac Pigments in Copper Sparkle, Blue Brown, Pro Silver, Pro Gold and Pro Heritage Rouge were mixed with Prep + Prime Fix to create a cream
Top tip: Don't be afraid to mix pigments to create unique eye colours - play!
