Each week we seem to fall head-over-heels for an exciting new drop of beauty buys (Lancome's rose-shaped highlighter, M.A.C's Year of The Rooster collection - need we go on?) but when that new haul shares its name with one of the most mesmerising movies to hit the big screen this year, well, we fall even deeper.

Echoing the perfectly pretty pastel nail trend spotted backstage at Haute Couture Fashion Week, ORLY have lifted the lid on their SS17 lacquer collection, La La Land - and, yep, it's just as magical as a tap-dancing Ryan Gosling.

Awash with six soft and delicate peaches-and-cream-esque shades, one splashed with sparkle as a nod to the stars of Hollywood, the drop re-invents the pale nail movement - no Tippex talons here. Formulated with Argan Oil and Vitamin C, which both work to nourish the nail and mask ridges, each hue is just sweet as its famous namesake.

Now, although the six-strong collection launch may coincide with the huge buzz surrounding the stunning rom com, ORLY mention that they took their inspiration from the sweet allure of the city of L.A mostly. That said, we can totally imagine the gorgeous Emma Stone rocking Forget Me Not, can't you?

Lilac has a tendency to look a tad wishy-washy or chalky on nails, but not this creamy shade. A single coat and you're good to go.

Head In The Clouds

As sweet as candy - the cotton kind. Grey undertones in this pink shade make it more sophisticated than ultra-girly, so you can wear it to work, too.

Like mint ice-cream, this chic shade will pop on both fair and dark skin tones. Apply two coats.

The prettiest shade of duck egg blue. Can we paint our bedroom walls, too?

Cool In California

Evocative of storm clouds over a burning sunset, this shade complements light olive to dark skin-tones beautifully.

Imbued with teeny tiny sequins, this'll leave you seeing stars when layered over Cool In California. Banish a scratchy surface and gloss with a topcoat.
