The red carpet arrivals last night at the Brit Awards, like the Grammy's earlier this month, was an understated affair. Nude lips and black, liquid liner were the hottest trend of the night with Adele , Lana Del Rey , Emeli Sande , Fearne Cotton and Kylie Monogue all rocking variations of the look. Rihanna kept things super nude with a really, subtle tonal look, as did Florence Welch . Nicole Scherzinger and Jessie J were more experimental with smoky eyes, while Pixie Lott, newcomer Rita Ora and Paloma Faith all rocked matte, red lips.
When it came to hair the looks were all paired down with simple, natural texture - see Kylie, Lana, Fearne Nicole and Florence. The most adventurous looks came from Alexandre Burke with her sleek hair and super long plait; Pixie Lott wore her hair in an asymmetric style that was curly to one side and sleek on the other, while Jesse J went all out with a fantastic dual texture up-do that was both super sleek and super curly.
While Rihanna arrived with a simple chignon, her onstage performance of 'We Found Love' called for more look-at-me hair. Her stylist Ursula Stephen prepped a wig, that looked just like the singer's hair, but was styled into Tina Turner-esque curls. Why the wig? Well, arriving with a sleek chignon, a wig meant she could pull out a new look fast. Kylie Minogue just presented Adele with the award for Best Female. Adele exclaimed to Kylie, 'I must look like a tranny next to you with my heels on!' We definitely don't think so.

Rihanna has just arrived with her hair pulled back into a simple chignon, with a piece-y fringe; it's similar to the hairstyle she wore out in London for her birthday last night. Her make-up also looks understated.

Pixie Lott has chosen Revlon Nail Lacquer in Fashionista, a dark teal blue which was also used on models at the Antonio Beradi show yesterday.
