It looks like the new colour could be for a film role. Rumours are rife that Blake is set to play Glinda the Good Witch in upcoming film Oz: The Great and Powerful; Glinda has big, wavy, red hair just like Blake's. Coincidence? We think not.
Blake debuted her new hair on the red carpet at the Time 100 Most influential People for 2011 party in New York in an aqua floor-length Zuhair Murad gown and Louboutin shoes. Her hair looked far glossier and luxe styled into 1940s waves, compared to her usual boho-esque beach blonde waves.
While it looks like Blake's new hair colour is down to character requirements, red hair is definitely back on the celeb radar after we told you last week that Drew Barrymore had gone red thanks to superstar colourist Tracey Cunningham.
