There is no denying it, Burberry knows how to rock a party and last night was no exception. The bright young things of London hit Village Underground for the launch of the Brit Rhythm fragrance with an exceptional performance by Brit rock band White Lies. Pixie Geldof and Sam Rollinson led the in-crowd to celebrate the new fragrance - the campaign is fronted by George Barnett (Pixie’s other half) and 1960s doe eyed London it-girl Suki Waterhouse. Forget the more formal champagne receptions that dominate the fashion circuit (though we love those too), this was slick and unashamedly cool. Gin, vodka and beer flowed through the sea of Burberry leather jackets loosening everyone up before the show.
The night resembled a living, breathing Burberry advert that everyone was invited to and as the shower of silver (Burberry Brit bottle shaped) confetti rained from the ceiling during the White Lies’ final song it is clear that Burberry has it nailed. The White Lies were a perfect mix of heady vocals and an amazing guitar sound. As they took the hip crowd through their set list, including a duet with the amazing Laura Mvula, it is clear that Burberry have their finger on the pulse, and this band is going to be big. The in-crowd, the fashion crowd, the music crowd and just about anyone who is anyone wants to be in this gang and we can see why.
