At first glance this looked like the handiwork of Diane's mane man, hairstylist Adam Reed. But, he was busy working at his London salon Percy & Reed last night, and we have it on good authority that Diane, who does her own make-up for most events (just like Kate - do we spy a trend?), also does her own hair! Diane's signature style is boho and effortless, she's a fan of plaits, up-dos, kirby grips (on show) and beachy texture; and last night she channelled all her favourite looks into one style.
To get the look, prep the hair with L'Oreal Professional Pli, £12.35, and rough dry. Next, randomly tong sections and spritz in a little L’Oreal Playball Beach Fizz, £11.75, to get that beachy texture. After, twist and pin pieces with kirby grips at the back and sides (use blonde or white grips if your hair is brunette - the clash gives the style extra cool points). Malcolm Edwards, session stylist says. 'Don't be shy about the kirby grips being seen'. Next, take a small section from the front and plait it around the head to the bottom of the opposite side drawing in the rest of the hair as you go. Make sure to keep it looking really undone; ‘if you're going to do a 'do, make it sexy and breathable', adds Malcolm.
Diane proves this look works for big occasions (think summer weddings), but it will also look great at festivals and on holiday. A winning look.
