Muse, 23, joins a long list of models who represent the brand - Elizabeth Hurley, Carolyn Murphy, Hilary Rhoda, Constance Jablonski, Liu Wen and Joan Smalls. It seems apart from Hurley, who is arguably more celebrity than model, Estee Lauder favours model ambassadors over celebrity faces. Whereas L'Oreal Paris tends to enlist the A-list with stars including Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Cheryl Cole fronting the products - making the signing of Poly a somewhat more unusual choice for the brand.
Of Estee Lauder's latest signing Aerin Lauder says, 'Arizona is a true beauty and a great complement to our other spokespeople,' Lauder told wwd.com. 'She is perfect for the brand — she is warm, elegant and personable. She can represent skin care, fragrance and makeup equally well. She is truly a modern Estée Lauder woman.'
Muse is yet to be shot for her campaign, but we can expect to see the first pictures within the year. The model has worked with famous photographers like Steven Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier and Paolo Roversi, and has walked for dozens of designers including Calvin Klein, Chanel, Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli and Dior. And it's not just Estee Lauder that wants a piece of Muse, this spring she is also fronting campaigns for Fendi, Karl by Karl Lagerfeld and Isabel Marant.
Muse has called her new role 'a momental honour'. She received the news from Lauder during Paris Fashion Week, 'I walked into my hotel room and found an enormous bouquet of flowers from Lauder welcoming me to the brand,' she says. 'It was such a great way to finish fashion week.'
So what is she most looking forward to fronting when she starts her work for Estee Lauder? 'I especially love skin care. It is something that is the base of everything,' she said, and in case you're wondering the Re-Nutriv range is a new favourite of hers. Of her success she has said, 'It still kind of blows me away, I don’t understand why all of this work happened, but I hope it continues!'
