It’s not the first time the actress has smiled for the cameras in the name of perfume, back in 2005 Estee Lauder tapped Paltrow for its Pleasures ad campaigns. While Pleasures is a pretty floral, Boss Nuit Pour Femme is inspired by the elegance and sensuality of the little black dress.

Paltrow said of her new job, ‘I was honoured and very happy to be chosen as the face of Boss Nuit Pour Femme’.

‘To me, the Boss woman is driven, ambitious and goes after what she wants, but she balances being strong and very feminine at the same time — characteristics that I strive toward in my own life.’

Last night when asked to share her thoughts on the fragrance's LBD inspiration she said, 'I love the idea of basing a fragrance on a little black dress because its such a resolutely feminine concept but its so simple at the same time. I love how perfume can finish off an outfit and make you feel pulled together'.

Gerd von Podewils, global marketing director for Hugo Boss Fragrances, P&G Prestige said of Paltrow signing, ‘We are [pleased] to welcome Gwyneth Paltrow to the Hugo Boss family as the face of our new Boss Black female signature scent... she is the perfect complement to Boss Fragrances.’

Paltrow may be busy fronting the fragrance, but she's still as passionate about her cookery as ever, 'I'm working on a second cookbook about delicious but healthy food, no dairy, no gluten etc. Cooking and being in the kitchen is what I love to do most. The smell I'm most addicted to are cooking smells, anything that takes a long time to simmer'.

'The best thing about London is some of the amazing restaurants, I love Roka, Nobu, the Delauney and Amaya Grill. London is my adopted home, it's important that my kids have an English education'.

As an honourary Londoner, she revealed that she can't wait to watch the Olympics, 'but I'm not into competitive sport myself, cricket is not really my thing, although I play soccer once in a while'. Hmm, she'll never make it as a true Brit if she doesn't call it football...

Because Paltrow adores food she combats her cravings with plenty of exercise, 'my tip on how to make myself feel better every morning is to get my body moving - exercise is key. Anything that gets my blood flowing makes me feel good. I like to feel strong and grounded'.

The fragrance pre-launch is slated for August with it going global in September. Paltrow joins a host of Hollywood stars who front Hugo Boss fragrances including Sienna Miller, Orlando Bloom and Ryan Reynolds.
