But, for the first episode of her new show The Voice last weekend, the pop star was spotted flaunting long, purple dip-dyed lengths prompting us to investigate how many hair looks has Jessie J actually had.
The answer: More than we can count... we’d estimate at well over a hundred in two years
Her bob hairstyle may be most recognisable as her own because it’s the style she always goes back to. And it’s apparently so recognisable that Coco Cola are putting mini plastic versions of her bob on bottles of Vitamin Water to coincide with the Olympics. But, taking a trip down memory lane reveals that Jessie J has, in fact, embraced more hairstyles in just under two years than most of us do in a life time.
Jessie J burst on to our musical radar in 2010 with hit single ‘Do it Like a Dude’ and her trademark black, glossy bob complete with blunt fringe, but since then she’s worn it with a centre and side part as well as big and curly at the 2011 MTV EMA Awards. She also introduced colour – red, purple and blue.
Just as the singer embraces colour, she isn’t afraid of length either. She’s been spotted with raven extensions, as well as wefts in rainbow hues – we loved the multi-coloured ponytail she flaunted on stage last November. While her look often has edge, she stunned fans and critics when she wore her hair with a glamorous old-school wave at an award ceremony last June.
And just yesterday she tweeted a picture of her new blonde dip-dye look saying ‘Look I'm Blonde :D wooooooo’. Her constantly changing hairstyles – often created with hairstylist Lyndell Mansfield - means Team ELLEuk are officially on ‘Jessie J Hair Watch’ and waiting to see if she changes her hair for the next episode of The Voice tomorrow.

The Voice in on BBC 1 Saturdays, 7pm.
