Marc Jacobs' Midas touch strikes again

Over the weekend news reached us from over the pond that Marc Jacobs’ latest perfume launch, the elaborately bottled Lola, did much to drive sales of scent over the festive season. A spokesman for Macy’s department store said the fragrance was up there with the highest-selling classic brands during December.

We checked in with House of Fraser, who confirmed that it was a hit over here too. As well as Lola and Jacob’s other popular scent, Daisy, the high street giant’s fragrance top 10 included Chanel scents No 5, Coco Mademoiselle, Coco and Chance, Estée Lauder’s Beautiful, the Charlize Theron-endorsed J’Adore by Dior, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf and Thierry Mugler’s Angel.
Lola’s debut straight into the top 10 made it the department store’s best-selling new fragrance and the biggest launch of the past few years. Congrats from ELLE, Marc.
