ELLE’s favourite nail artist Sophy Robson and her Nail Porn team were hard at work before the Olympics painting flag designs on to many hopefuls’ nails from the GB team, as well as some overseas competitors. Even London Mayor Boris Johnson was spotted chatting with the nail artists at the Olympic Village.
Robson tweeted from her account @sophyrobson: ‘Nearly all my girls are on site now working on athletes and visitors from the whole wide world’.
Zara Dampney, GB Volleyball player, was spotted with red nails and a Union Jack design on her ring finger during her match yesterday, while swimmer Rebecca Adlington who won bronze last night in the Women’s 400m Freestyle, wore Union Jacks on every nail.
British Archer Amy Oliver, who unfortunately exited the competition after losing at Lord’s yesterday, was spotted with a mix of Union Jack and Olympic Ring nail designs.
Robson’s team also created patriotic nail looks for Olympic hopefuls from nations including New Zealand and Iraq.
We were pretty distracted by the nails and so were Robson’s Twitter followers. Ciara Barry tweeted to say, ‘All I'm looking at in the Olympics is @sophynails on the athletes hehe’. While Heather B said, ‘Loving how @sophynails and her amazing @nailporn team, have brought nail art to a whole new audience!
